Doug is authorized to serve as a Regional Director of The American College Foundation and is also a Certified College Advisor. Doug understands the importance of higher education and also realizes that each family has unique circumstances. Doug’s philosophy has always been to teach true principles, let families decide how to proceed, then support them in that process.
For Doug, effective college planning includes not only paying a fair price for higher education but also protecting as much money as possible for retirement through efficient and effective strategies.
Doug thoroughly enjoys helping people with their college planning needs. Doug knows that there is a great deal of information that is often overlooked. This ‘unknown’ can be extremely costly to the family. Without prudent planning, many people lose money unnecessarily.
“A college education alone does not guarantee success,” says Doug,” but it does open many doors which would otherwise remain closed.”
Doug has a B.S.C.E. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Alabama. Doug holds a Chartered Financial Consultant (“ChFC”) professional financial designation; as well as the Chartered Life Underwriter (“CLU”) professional financial designation; and also an Advanced Certified College Advisor (“CCA”) accreditation.
Doug first became involved in finance in 1981. It became apparent to Doug that families needed help in the very complex field of college cost planning and selection. For those families who would like more in-depth understanding of the overall college planning process, Doug is passionate about teaching and helping those families navigate the oftentimes confusing and complicated process of preparing and paying for college.
Doug grew up primarily in Alabama and lives in Orem, Utah with his wife as empty nesters enjoying their children and grandchildren. Doug’s hobby: he has been an avid golfer since age 11.
