About Dewdney ...

Dewdney ls authorized to serve as a Regional Director of the American College Foundation and is also a Certified College Advisor.

Dewdney understands the importance of a higher education and also realizes that each family has unique circumstances.  Dewdney’s philosophy has always been to teach people through principles, let them decide how to proceed, then support them in that process.  Dewdney first became involved in finance in 1999.  It soon became apparent to Dewdney that families needed help in the very complex field of college cost planning and selection.  For those families in Dewdney’s area who would like a more in depth understanding of the overall college planning process, Dewdney is passionate about teaching and helping those families navigate the often times confusing and complicated process of preparing and paying for college.

“A college education alone does not guarantee success,” says Dewdney, “but it does open many doors which would otherwise remain closed.”  Dewdney was born in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica and attended St. Elizabeth Technical High School before migrating to the United States and furthering his education at Trinity College, Broward College and University of Phoenix where he received an MBA.  He now lives in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with his wife who is a Registered Nurse.  He has a son that attended Florida State University and obtained a bachelor’s degree (without any student loans) and works for Microsoft as a Manager.  He also has another son who attended the University of Central Florida where he obtained a bachelor of science degree in Engineering (BSc.) and a master of science degree in Cyber Security (MSc.) from John Hopkins University – all with student loans totaling less than $10,000.
